Dear Bride and Groom To Be:
Congratulations on your engagement. One of the most important decisions
you will make as you plan your wedding reception will be
the entertainment. Choosing the right entertainment can make
your special day an event that you and your guests will never
forget!
To convince you of the importance of these decisions we would
like to provide you with the following statistics gathered by
the ADJA.
|

|
|
 |
|
During wedding planning, Brides say their
highest priority is their attire, followed by the reception site and
caterer - reception entertainment is among the least of their
priorities. Within one week after their reception,
78% of Brides say they would have made the
entertainment their highest priority!
72%
of all brides say they would have spent more time
choosing their reception entertainment.
Almost 100%
say they would have spent more of their budget on the entertainment.
When asked
81%
of guests say the thing they remember most about a wedding is the
entertainment.
65%
of all couples that chose a band to entertain at their wedding, said, if
they had it to do over again, they would have chosen a disc jockey.*

With over 25 years experience as a Full-Time Wedding DJ, we have
learned that what a Bride and Groom don't want is a Disc Jockey who
becomes the main focus of your reception by talking on the
microphone all night, and using props or games.
What we'll do at your reception is
play the music you had requested and handle all of your
announcements professionally. We take requests from your guests and
try to get everyone involved on the dance floor.
Our music philosophy is very simple: we want
to play the music that you want to hear at your reception. Once booked,
we will provide you with a list of music through our online wedding
planner. We encourage you to
go through the list of and select the songs you want to hear, the songs
that you definitely do not want played, and add music that is not
included in the list. The
more music that you provide, the better idea we have on the type of
music that you like. Keep in
mind that most weddings have a wide age group, so please allow for some
music for all of your guests to enjoy.
When you first contact us, I will send you
one of our wedding packages that include a demo video, music lists,
wedding forms, and a list of upcoming events. About a week after I
send wedding package, I will call you to answer any questions you
might have and to set up an appointment to meet with you or a time
to view us at a function.
*When we schedule a meeting, I will be glad to come to your home
to discuss your wedding plans. In order to keep my prices
reasonable, I do not maintain an office. Over the years, I have
found that most couples are very busy during the planning stages of
their wedding, and they find it more convenient to meet at their
home.
Once you have booked us, we will meet prior to the wedding to go
over all of you musical likes and dislikes, formalities, and any
special instructions you request. We are always available by phone
or email to assist you with your plans. We will also meet about a
month prior to your wedding day to finalize all of your plans.
*As an added convenience, you can now do all of your planning
online through my website. You can choose your music, complete your
wedding form and submit any special requests.
Remember, this is YOUR day, and we can work together to customize
all of your plans so that your reception is handled the way you've
dreamed about!
Best of luck with all of your wedding plans and we hope we can be
a part of your special day!
Securing A Date For Your Function
Once you have contacted us, we will put a hold on the date and
time of your reception until we are able to meet. If we do get
another call for your date, we will contact you first about your
status before proceeding with another client. If you decide to hire
us as your entertainment, we require a deposit that will guarantee
our performance at your function.
Ceremony Music
If you are not having a
traditional church wedding, we can provide you with all the
necessary ingredients to have a beautiful and memorable wedding
ceremony. We can discuss with you the music and provide wireless
mikes and sound systems so that your guests can also enjoy the
ceremony.
The following are some examples of ceremony music:
Pachebel Canon in D, Trumpet Voluntary, Mendelssohn's Wedding March

Cocktail
Hour Music*
During cocktail hour, we generally play instrumental jazz music,
featuring artists such as Grover Washington, Jr., Warren Hill, and David
Sanborn. We have found that this is great background music as your
guests enjoy a beverage and conversation. However, if you decide on a
different format, we will be glad to accommodate your requests. We can
discuss this prior to the reception, so that we are prepared with the
right music.
Dinner Music*
Our normal format for dinner music is what we consider vocalist and
adult contemporary music. This consists of music by artists such as
Frank Sinatra, James Taylor, Jimmy Buffet, Van Morrison, Harry Connick,
Jr., and the Temptations. The music is always played at a sound level
that your guests will be able to talk, and at the same time, tap their
toes to familiar tunes. Again, you can customize your dinner music to
your specific taste.
Dance Music*
We play a wide variety of music for both the young and not so young.
Our music collection consists of music from the big band era to the hits
of today. We ask that you pick songs from our music
list, and also to add songs or artists that you would like to hear.
We also recommend that you let us know if there are any songs that you
do not want played at your reception. This will give us a good idea of
the your musical taste. We will take requests from your guests, but will
only play them if it is consistent with your format.
We do ask that you give the Disc Jockey the discretion to play some
music to satisfy all of your guests. Through our many years of
experience, we have a good idea of what music will get everyone on the
dance floor. Of course, these selections will be based on your ideas,
and will be discussed at our meeting prior to the wedding!
*You can let us choose the music for the different times of your
reception, select the music yourself, or we can combine our experience
and your requests to accommodate all of your musical needs.
Wedding Formalities
At any reception, there are certain formalities that the Bride and
Groom traditionally perform. However, not all couples want the
formalities to be traditional, and some may not want them done at all.
We will discuss each of the formalities with the Bride and Groom and
give recommendations on alternative ways of performing them.
Here a list of some of the formalities:
Introductions
First Dance
Parent Dances
Cake Cutting
Garter & Bouquet
Centerpiece Giveaway
Anniversary Dance
Bride & Groom Kissing-guests sing
Last Dance |
 |
You will be able to customize each of the formalities.
Non-Stop Music
We never take a break. You will have non-stop music from the moment
your guests arrive until you say your final good-byes. There are no band
breaks, so the music and the party never stop until the reception is
over.
Equipment
We use top of the line, state of the art equipment in all of our sound
system packages. Each system is constantly updated. We also brings along
back up equipment in case of unexpected failure. You can be assured that
the music and the party will never stop once your guests arrive!!!!
Please see our list of
"Suggested
Vendors" who can assist you with the other
aspects of your wedding celebration.
